“What is this mysterious package?”

Have you heard of Barkbox? No? Well listen closely because this program is freaking awesome! Barkbox is a care package program created specifically for canines. Every month, the people at Barkbox pick some of their favourite products to send off to dogs around North America. A portion of the proceeds of this care package also goes to dog shelters! Since they just recently opened up their subscription service to Canada, and honestly, how could I resist giving this a shot?

Barkbox allows you to subscribe to a specific package based on the weight of your canine. Whether your dog be tiny, medium or nice and large, Barkbox has a package put together specifically for your little four legged friend! Subscription prices vary depending on how many months you plan to commit, with the longer commitments obviously getting you cheaper package prices! Take it from me, this program is truly cool and worth the pretty pennies; if you don’t subscribe for more than a month you might regret it!

“What’s inside?”

As soon as you open up the package, you have a lovely card, ready to greet you with information about the inspiration behind this month’s package and background on the goodies within! As soon as I opened up the box, Luna’s nose was deep within the cardboard lining, sniffing away curiously. She was excited but no where near as excited as I was (hence the blurry cell phone photos)!

“Stop reading, let me get to the good stuff.”

This month’s package contained a handful of great products. To start the summer off nice and cool, a portable pet water dispenser by Gulpy was included. This leak-free alternative to my portable dog bowl is a great addition for our rollerblading adventures with one another! There was also a squeaky bumper by Katie’s Bumper which Luna took to quite quickly, as anything that squeaks definitely has her hooked. This bumper is made out of fire hose material, making it EXTREMELY durable! Various treats such as a bully stick and natural dog bisquits by Sloppy Kisses of Saratoga Springs were packed away inside (Luna LOVES the cookies). Other goodies include “pet spa” materials such as a bath fizz and coat gloss specifically formulated to be safe for canines.

“Great purchase, mum!”

I truly think this care package is worth everything I paid for it. The excitement of it arriving in the mail, the look on Luna’s face as she jumped up for it while I held it in my hands, the curiousity it instilled in her, the presentation of it all, the quality products, the support of shelters and the convenience make Barkbox a wonderful idea for any pet parent! I cannot wait until next month’s Barkbox to see what other goodies they have to share with Little Luna.
